Finishing spring break with a bang!

This morning we're exploring the vibrant world of color on textiles - a perfect messy play activity. Children naturally gravitate toward bright colors, and when they experiment with dyeing and printing on fabric, they're not just having fun - they're developing important early art concepts.

Working with textiles introduces little ones to color theory, pattern recognition, and the fascinating process of how different materials absorb pigments. We are SO excited to unveil our rebuilt Gear Wall at the Santa Cruz Children's Museum of Discovery! A HUGE thank you to our amazing volunteer builder Bill Turner of Ocean CNC for his incredible craftsmanship in rebuilding this stunning exhibit for us

Watch your little ones' faces light up as they explore the fascinating world of gears! This interactive wall features colorful magnetic gears and a motor that brings them to life. Children can create endless combinations while discovering how gears connect, rotate, and work together.

But it's more than just fun—gear play is PACKED with learning opportunities:

🧠 STEM foundations: Early exposure to mechanical concepts and cause-effect relationships
🔄 Critical thinking: "If I move this gear here, what happens to the others?"
